Facebook May Not Be Dominant in Japan, Zynga Says

Facebook is without doubt the social media king in many countries like the US, UK, India, many European countries and quite a few South East Asian countries like Indonesia and Singapore. But this is clearly not the case in Japan, according to Robert Goldberb, head of Zynga’s operations in Japan. He also opines that Facebook may never be dominant in Japan (at least in the near future) thanks to a few false starts. A rival social networking site in Japan, Mixi, has close to 22 million registered users in the country, compared to Facebook’s 2.2 million.
